Comprehensive Passive Preamp Kit
The LDR3.V2K is an affordable comprehensive 3 input, 2 ouput single-ended passive preamp kit that includes all the parts needed to assemble a complete audiophile grade passive preamp including enclosure, RCA jacks, power supply, remote etc. The kit is substantially identical to the finished LDR3.V2 Passive Preamp.
State of The Art LDR Based Technology
The kit is designed around Tortuga Audio’s latest version of the LDR3x Passive Preamp Controller Board – the V2.1. This is the same core board that Tortuga Audio is using in all of its LDR passive preamp products.
High Quality Enclosure
The kit uses the same high quality uni-body extruded aluminum box used in Tortuga Audio’s current LDR3.V2 and LDR1B.V2 finished preamps. The front panel is 0.25″ thick smoke gray see-through acrylic behind which you mount either the dual display modules. The rear is a brushed anodized aluminum panel with milled openings for all audio and power connections including the RCA jacks and a USB connection for firmware updates.
Ready To Use Circuit Boards
The circuit boards in this kit come already fully assembled and tested. You do not need to solder individual components into circuit boards. Assembly and point to point wiring is all that is required.

Things You Really Need – Not Included In Kit
- Soldering iron
- Allan wrench for socket head screws
- Drill & drill bit for drilling holes in the mounting sheet and mounting bar.
- Wire strippers for stripping insulation off wires
- Wire cutters for cutting wires to length
- Small screw drivers (both regular and phillips) for screw terminals, encoder knob etc.
Things You Really Should Have But Can Probably Get Away Without
- A volt-ohm multimeter
Presently we only have rudimentary assembly instructions that can be found in our online documentation page. In the future we plan on having more detailed instructions with both photographs and video.
We strongly encourage you to review the available assembly instructions and decide for yourself if you are comfortable taking on this kit given the current level of assembly instructions.
