LDR2 Passive Preamplifier

The LDR2 is a custom order that requires the fabrication of customized parts. Expect to wait up to 2 weeks from the date of order before your LDR2 is ready to be shipped.

The LDR2 Passive Preamplifier is a passive (unity gain)  single input controller/attenuator that employs digitally controlled  audio grade light dependent analog resistors in lieu of a potentiometer for volume control. Light dependent resistors are also used in lieu of conventional relays so there is nothing mechanical in the signal path. Everything is manually controllable via a single rotary encoder but you’ll probably want to sit back and use the remote instead.

The LDR2 is a customized version of our LDR1 except that it has 2 rather than 1 input and is priced $100 more than the LDR1. The LDR2 also has 2 additional LED status lights on the front panel indicating which of the 2 inputs is currently active.

All passive preamps, including the LDR1, that sold or shipped after 11.15.13 include the HiZ software control algorithm upgrade.

Please note that the photos shown here are of the LDR1. The LDR2 looks identical except for the 1 additional set of inputs and the input select status LEDs on the front panel.
