Firmware update service
$65.00
All Tortuga Audio preamps models run on software driven microcontrollers. In embedded applications such as audio, software is often referred to as firmware because it is firmly embedded into the permanent memory and is typically not easily accessible or simple to update.
Like all software driven systems, we will occasionally release firmware updates that users can load into their preamps. For those who would rather have us update their firmware for them instead of doing it themselves, we are happy to offer this service for a nominal fee plus our cost to ship the unit back to you.
Background
Firmware is just another name for the software that drives the microcontrollers running our LDR preamp attenuator & preamp controller boards.
Starting with with our V2 models, all Tortuga Audio preamps are designed to allow the end-user to update the firmware themselves. More information on firmware updating can be found in our online product documentation under “Docs” in our main menu.
However, if you would rather have us update your preamp, we offer a firmware update service that works as described below.
How firmware update service works
- You purchase the Firmware Update Service
- You ship your preamp to our shop
- We open up your preamp & do a complete physical inspection and correction of any issues.

- You pay the return shipping invoice and we ship your unit back
